Laie, HI—The 30th-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s tennis team defeated UH-Hilo for the fourth time this season today with an 8-1 win. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches and took five of six singles matches to improve to 10-7 for the season
Rong Ma and Agnel Peter took an 8-3 win at number one doubles while Diego Miranda and C.J. Adamson were winning 8-4 at the second doubles position. Andy Xing and Taylor De Hoyas claimed an 8-6 win at number three doubles for the sweep.
Ma won 6-0, 7-5 at the top singles slot and Peter breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 win at number two. Miranda scored a 6-2, 7-6(2) victory at third singles and Xing collected a 6-3, 6-2 win at number five. De Hoyas rounded out the win with a 7-6(5), 7-5 win at the finals singles spot.
The Seasiders’ next action will be on Monday against College of Idaho in Laie at 2:00 pm.
