ITA also announces field for All-American Championships
SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Alabama men’s tennis team placed two singles players and one doubles pair on the 2011 Campbell/ITA Preseason rankings, which were recently announced.
Senior Ricky Doverspike and junior Jarryd Botha came in at No. 108 and No. 116, respectively in the singles standings. Last season, Doverspike collected 13 singles wins, including two against nationally ranked foes. Botha notched 15 singles wins, including 11 in dual match play.
Botha and Doverspike also represent Alabama in doubles coming in at No. 20 nationally after winning five matches together in 2010, four of which were in conference play.
The ITA Men's All-American Championships draws were announced as well, with Doverspike and Botha being selected for the qualifying singles draw, as well as being selected for the main draw in doubles. This year’s event will be held at the University of Tulsa for the fifth straight season.
