            Los Angeles, CA—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Annie Hwang and Sherry Liu swept both their singles and doubles matches today at the women’s USTA/ITA West Regional Tournament.  The Seasiders both advanced to the semifinals in singles and moved through to the finals in doubles play.

            In singles play top-seeded Hwang steamrolled both Gabby Verspieren of Dominican and Megan White of Sonoma State 6-0, 6-0.  Liu downed Frederique Van de Velde and Justine Majan both of Grand Canyon by identical 6-4, 6-0 scores.

            In double play Hwang and Liu teamed up as the top seed to defeat Tara Vanootgehm and Melissa Breisacher of UC San Diego 8-0 before blasting fourth-seeded Katie Eng and Kelsey Chrisco of Cal State-Stanislaus by the same 8-0 score.
