   Los Angeles, CA—Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s tennis player Zevhan Zakharov won the singles title today at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) West Regionals.  Zakharov, seeded fourth in the tournament, defeated Max Jigante of UC San Diego 6-2, 6-4 to claim the crown.

            In doubles play Zakharov and his partner, C.J. Adamson, were defeated in the semifinals 8-4 by Ahmed Saleem and Bastien Tonus of Grand Canyon.

            With the singles win, Zakharov qualifies to play in the ITA Small College Nationals that will take place in Mobile, Alabama beginning on October 13th.
