BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women's tennis team (6-6) will play its final home match, Wednesday against Washington State at noon before beginning its one month slate of road matches in California. In the Golden State, the Broncos will face No. 28 Saint Mary's Saturday at 11 a.m. MT and San Francisco, Sunday at 11 a.m. MT.

What Happened Last Time - The Broncos are coming off a weekend split against regional foes, No. 33 Utah and Montana. Boise State was only able to get wins from Marlena Pietuzch and Sandy Vo in the team's 5-2 loss to the Utes but rebounded nicely the next day, taking down the Grizzlies by as score of 6-1.

Looking at Washington State - The Cougars come to Boise with a 9-3 record this season with eight of their wins coming in shutout fashion. The team is led by Liudmila Vasilieva who has earned a ranking of 43rd nationally and is 25-2 during the 2011-12 season.

Looking at No. 28 Saint Mary's - The Gaels are 7-5 this spring with a 4-0 record at home and moved up eight places in the team rankings this week to No. 28. Jenny Jullien is the lone member ranked in singles play at No. 88 and has a 9-2 record this season. Despite having a 41-28 overall singles record, Saint Mary's has struggled in doubles play, going 15-20.

Looking at San Francisco - The Dons hold a 2-7 record this season, with wins over UC Santa Cruz and Pacific. Julia Wartenburger and Marina Nikolic have each played at the No. 1 spot for San Francisco. Wartenburger is still looking for her first win at the top spot while Nikolic carries a 1-5 record as the top player for the Dons.

Scoring Early - The doubles point has been a crucial one for the Broncos this season. The team is a perfect 6-0 when winning the opening point and 0-6 when they do not.

Best in the West - Boise State's Marlena Pietzuch was named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 7-14 after going a combined 4-0 last weekend to help propel Boise State to home victories over Eastern Washington (W, 7-0) and Idaho (W, 5-2), respectively. Pietzuch made her debut at the No. 1 spot against Idaho, defeating Victoria Lozano in straight sets.

2012 Team - The Boise State women's tennis team is coming off a 17-8 season and a 5-1 record in the WAC. The Broncos advanced to the conference finals but fell 4-3 to Fresno State. Lone senior Sonia Klamczynska returns to lead a young Bronco team that includes one freshman and two sophomores. Manuela Pietzuch joins the Boise State roster after transferring from Virginia Commonwealth and joins her sister Marlena.
