MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State tennis teams are prepared for competition against Western Kentucky on Thursday, March 8 at 1:00 p.m. in Montgomery, Ala. at the Olean Black Underwood Complex.

The Lady Hornets (0-7) have had a rocky start to their young season, but look to pick it up in the second half of the season. Nathalie Lorenco and Mechelle Barton have stepped up in doubles for ASU and looks to get better game in and game out.

The Hornets (2-6) fell to Jacksonville State 7-0 on Tuesday, but looks to improve against WKU on Thursday. Rodrick Ivory and Stefan Vojnic won their doubles match 8-6 on Tuesday over JSU, but it wasn't enough for Alabama State to come out with the team win.

“We saw improvement on Tuesday, and will look for it more throughout the rest of the season,” head coach Anuk Christiansz said. “We need to play more matches and need not to set out for a week and a half anymore. With playing these stiff out-of-conference matches, it will help us gain more reps in before playing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference West Round-up in Baton Rouge at the end of the month.”
