WACO, Texas - Texas earned two singles berths and two doubles berths in their respective rounds of 16 Saturday on day two of the ITA Texas Regional Championship at the Baylor Tennis Center.
Scott posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over Rice's Kimberly Anicete to earn a spot in Sunday's round of 16, where she will meet Texas A&M's Sun Wen at 9 a.m. Ellis held off Texas Tech's Rashmi Teltumbde by a 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 count to earn her spot in Sunday's round of 16. Ellis will face TCU's Stefanie Tan Sunday at 10:15 a.m.
Ellis and Scott teamed up for an 8-3 win over UT Arlington's Brooke Dennis and Elizabeth Thoms in the round of 32 in the doubles draw. Ellis and Scott will face off against Lamar's Carolina Maso and Alicia Porte Sunday at 9 a.m. in the round of 16.
UT junior Elizabeth Begley and sophomore Lina Padegimaite added an 8-2 win over UTEP's Marie LeBlond and Anastasiya Sylenko. The Texas tandem will meet North Texas' Dane Joubert and Ilona Serchenko Sunday at 9 a.m. in the round of 16.
Sophomore Annat Rabinovich added a 6-2, 6-2 win over Sam Houston State's Kayla Stevenson in consolation play. Rabinovich faces UTEP's Darjya Abdrakhmanova on Sunday.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Four University of Oklahoma doubles teams stayed undefeated at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., Saturday. The Sooners also advance three of their six singles players in the main draw to the quarterfinals.
All-American doubles pair Costin Paval and Dane Webb defeated Minnesota's Eric Frueh and Brendan Ruddock, 8-5. Sooners Lawrence Formentera and John Harrison Warden captured an 8-5 win over Nebraska's Andre Stenger and Ford Zisch, Peerakit Siributwong and Leonard Stakhovsky beat Nebraska's Eric Sock and Brandon Videtich, 8-4, and Guillermo Alcorta and Axel Alvarez Llamas knocked out Nebraska's Sebastien Florczyk and Marc Hermann, 8-2.
Paval, Alvarez Llamas and Alcorta all advanced through two rounds of singles play in the main draw.
The day featured two rounds of singles main draw play.
In the Round of 32, Paval beat Drake's Jean Erasmus 7-6 (3), 7-5, Alvarez Llamas defeated Minnesota's Juan Pablo Ramirez 6-0, 6-2, and Alcorta dropped UMKC's Nino Hasandedic 6-2, 6-2. In the Round of 16, Paval beat Wichita State's Erick Reyes 6-2, 6-4. Alvarez Llamas topped Wichita State's Matheus Pereira 6-3, 6-2. Alcorta defeated Drake's James Mckie 6-3, 6-4.
Three Sooners won in consolation rounds. Nick Papac topped Bradley's Justin Abrams 6-2, 6-0, Warden defeated Bradley's Juan Diego Cuardrado 6-3, 6-0, and Stakhovsky defeated Southern Illinois-Carbondale's Jonny Riby 6-1, 6-2.
Tournament action continues Sunday with Paval, Alvarez Llamas and Alcorta beginning their singles matches.

TAMPA, FLA.—The Georgia women’s tennis team registered another productive afternoon at the USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships Saturday with three Bulldogs reaching the quarterfinals and one doubles team in the semifinals.
Georgia’s number two seeded doubles team of Kate Fuller and Lauren Herring advanced to the semifinals while top seed Maho Kowase, freshman Makenzie Craft and Herring came through in the singles. Craft had the most impressive win of her career to date.
“We played some high level tennis today in both singles and doubles,” said Bulldog head coach Jeff Wallace. “Looking first at doubles, I thought Kate and Lauren played one of the best matches of the fall so far, and our other team hung in there and had a chance against a fantastic team. The matches were very well-played.”
In doubles, the second-seeded and 30th-ranked tandem of Fuller and Herring picked up a pair of wins to move their record to 9-2. Fuller and Herring posted an 8-6 win over Mia Vriens and Francesca Sargeant of Florida State. Then, they defeated the Georgia Tech duo of Woodward/Kilborn 8-3. On Sunday, they will face the fourth seed in Florida’s Collins/Janowicz. Georgia’s third-seeded and 50th-ranked duo of Maho Kowase and Lilly Kimbell took care of Florida State’s Kristina Schleich and Leyla Erkin 8-3 in the round of 16. However, they fell in the quarterfinals to the Georgia State tandem of Tere-Apisah/Grgan 8-6.
In singles, top-seeded and 37th-ranked Kowase dispatched Kendal Woodward (Ga. Tech) 6-4,6-4. Kowase is now 13-2 this year. She will face Daneika Borthwick (Florida State) on Sunday.
Herring, ranked 53rd in the country, outlasted Briana Morgan (Florida) 6-1,3-6,7-5. Herring is 10-1 and the winner of six in a row. Meanwhile, freshman Makenzie Craft upset fourthth-seeded Danielle Collins (Florida) 1-6,6-4,7-6(7). Collins is ranked eighth nationally among freshmen. Herring will square off against Craft Sunday.
“Maho did a nice job, she was down 4-1 in the first set and came back,” Wallace added. “Makenzie’s match was just a great Georgia-Florida battle between a couple of freshmen. Collins made it to the semifinals of the All-American earlier this month and certainly this was great win for Makenzie. Then, Lauren picked up a big win over Morgan from Florida too. We had a good day.”
Fuller, ranked 62nd nationally, was eliminated by the second seed in 23rd-ranked Abigail Tere-Apisah (Ga. State) 7-5,7-5. Tere-Apisah was a quarterfinalist at the NCAA Championships last year. Bulldog junior Lilly Kimbell lost a match in the back draw, falling to Sarah Means (FGSU) 6-2,6-2.
The USTA/UTA Regionals is a four-day singles and doubles tournament that serves as a qualifying event for the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships, considered the second leg of the collegiate Grand Slam. The Indoor Championships are held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. from Nov. 8-11.
