SALT LAKE CITY -- Washington improved to 2-0 in conference with another gritty road win on Sunday. The Dawgs defeated Utah, 4-3, to earn a second conference road win of the weekend.

Washington began by winning the doubles points when the earned victories at No. 2 and No. 3. Jeff Hawke and Emmett Egger got things rolling with an 8-3 win at No. 2 and were followed up by Max Manthou and Hudson Barnhart defeating the Utah squad, 8-5, at No. 3.

Kyle McMorrow made it 2-0 Dawgs after making quick work of Dmytro Mamedow at No. 1 singles. The Husky senior cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory to prove his No. 21 national ranking.

The Dawgs then clinched the victory with wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles. Manthou defeated Alejandro Medinilla, 6-4, 6-3, followed by Egger beating Devin Lane, 6-4, 6-3.

Utah stormed back to win the final three matches, but it was too late as Washington had already clinched the victory. Viktor Farkas lost a two setter, both in tiebreaks, before Marton Bots and Hawke lost in three sets each.
