CORAL GABLES, Fla.  – After completing a perfect March in which it went 7-0, the 10th-ranked University of Miami women’s tennis team will take on Maryland at noon on Friday in College Park, then travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass. to face Boston College on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Now 13-3 on the season, the Hurricanes are coming off of a stretch in which they played five matches in eight days. After defeating Texas and Baylor on the road, the Canes returned home and dominated Brown (6-1), No. 35 NC State (7-0) and Wake Forest (7-0).

The latest home stand saw the debut of freshman Stephanie Wagner at the No. 1 singles spot. She had no trouble living up to the occasion, going 3-0 in her first matches. After dropping Brown’s Misia Krasowski (6-4, 6-3), she returned to the court the next day to face Joelle Kissell of NC State, the 35th-ranked player in the nation, and won 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.

On Saturday against Wake Forest, Wagner beat Kasey Gardiner 6-1, 6-4 and is currently ranked 104th in the nation and has a team-leading 13 singles wins in dual matches.

Also in the singles lineup for Miami are Kelsey Laurente (No. 73) and Clementina Riobueno (No. 122).

In doubles, the Canes have taken the point in its last eight matches and are led by the 31st-ranked tandem of Wagner and sophomore Lina Lileikite.

Maryland is on a four game losing streak and returns home after a three game road trip. The Terrapins are 5-9 on the season and have yet to win an ACC match, going 0-4 in the conference thus far.

Boston College is also on a four game losing streak, with a 7-5 record for the year. The Eagles are 1-4 in the ACC and most recently fell to Clemson, 6-1, with freshman Wan-Yi Sweeting picking up her first career ACC singles win.

Next weekend, the Canes return home to face No. 1 UNC and No. 6 Duke on April 12 and 14.
