The USA National Collegiate team won their third straight World University Team Championship team in Aix en Provence, France with a 7-0 victory over Russia.
The National team is led by Boise State Coach Greg Patton who has won four World Championships leading the USA with Cal Coach Amanda Augustus. The team consists of: Marcos
Giron (UCLA), Peter
Kobelt (Ohio State), Mitchell
Frank (University of Virginia), Robin
Anderson (UCLA), Sabrina
Santamaria (USC), and Lauren
Herring (University of Georgia).
The USA team defeated Ireland (6-1,) France (6-1), and then Russia (7-0). Team matches consist of two women's singles, two men's singles, one women's doubles, one men's doubles, and finishes with mixed doubles.
Coach
Patton's has coached the USA team since 2009 and his record is 14-1 in International play. Amanda
Augustus won her second straight Master U championship. She has coached the USA team with Coach Patton for two years (2012 and 2013). Her record is 6-0 as the National Coach.
The USA has won the team event in 2009, 2011, 2012, and now in 2013. In 2010 the USA lost to France in the finals.
