FORT WORTH, Texas – For the second year in a row, TCU women’s tennis player Stefanie Tan was selected to compete in the singles competition at the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis championships on May 21-26 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
 
The junior’s selection to the singles competition is the third straight year someone from TCU is making a postseason appearance and the 16th time in program history a singles player or doubles team has competed postseason. Tan made history just a year ago by advancing to the to Sweet Sixteen and becoming the first singles All-American for TCU since 2009.
 
This year, Tan was ranked as high as No. 30 in the ITA singles poll and finished the regular season with a 31-8 record. Tan faced 18 ranked opponents at No. 1 singles and posted 11 wins over those opponents. The Singapore native recorded a 16-4 record on court one in dual matches and finished off the season going 7-1. Tan lost only two conference matches and was runner up for the No. 1 singles title in the Big 12.
 
Tan began the season by advancing to the semifinals of the USTA/ITA Texas Regional for the second year in a row. After her loss on Oct. 20, Tan won 11 straight matches from Nov. 8 to March 1. All seven of the junior’s losses this season came to opponents ranked in the ITA top 125.
