The Australian Open is the next grand slam event in the tennis calendar and it is now just a couple of months away, some lesser stars will be hoping to make a name for themselves across the globe with the usual rivals of Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic potentially meeting yet again.

In terms of the potential winners, the prior mentioned duo are the pick of the bunch and the world will be in for a treat if they are matched against each other in Australia as it would be the 60th occasion on which they have competed against each other with the Serbian currently leading 30-29.

Old rivals to compete again?
If Djokovic is to be allowed to compete this time around in Australia then he and Nadal will certainly represent the biggest favorites going into the event in terms of sports betting. Sportsbetting is an incredibly competitive industry and depending on where you live, finding the best odds for your favorite sporting events can be difficult. BonusFinder, a website specializing in comparing different sites and offers and features across states. For example, Ohioans can find the best odds when placing bets on tennis as well as ensure they capitalize on the greatest offers.

Grand Slams are the biggest event in Tennis and often experience the highest frequency of bets over the tournaments. There are several betting companies competing within the US now and BonusFinder reviews these sites to ensure people from Ohio can find the ideal site to place their bets on tennis and many other sports.

Djokovic and Nadal last met at the French Open quarter-final in May in which the Spaniard knocked Djokovic out and reduced the head-to-head deficit that Djokovic holds on him. The two form one of the greatest tennis rivalries ever and certainly the greatest rivalry of the modern era, but who else presents serious opposition to them in terms of a tournament win in Australia?

The other key favorite?
Daniil Medvedev is currently one of the world's best tennis players and he will be desperate to make amends on the grand slam stage after he suffered a shock defeat to Nick Kyrgios at the round of 16 stages of the US Open. In the lesser events since he has faced Djokovic at the Astana Open where the Serbian emerged victorious at the semi-final stage.

The Russian won at the Vienna Open in late October shown by Reuters but his form fluctuates so frequently that it is tough to predict how he will perform at the next grand slam even in the new year. Medvedev has shown signs of complacency many times in big events and has been made to pay by supposedly lesser opposition.

Very rarely is he a pushover when facing the top seeds such as Djokovic and Nadal which suggests his failure to overcome weaker opponents is a mentality issue that he must conquer if he is to have serious hopes of winning a grand slam next year.

Less opposition?
Fewer heavyweights are competing in the Australian Open following Roger Federer's recent retirement after one final Laver Cup battle with Nadal in London which will certainly have a huge impact on the tennis world as he was consistently one of the greatest players and maintained an iconic rivalry with Nadal.

Federer would have certainly been one of the favorites and his departure from the sport represents a huge boost to the chances of the top seeds to reach the latter stages comfortably, in Nadal's case he can mainly focus on Djokovic, who is by far his strongest opponent.
