FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. - Women's tennis senior Alexa Guarachi has been named recipient of the 2013 All Sports Association Collegiate Award, which was announced on Monday. Guarachi will be recognized at the All Sports Association's annual banquet, which will be held on Feb. 8.

Guarachi enters her senior season ranked No. 13 in the nation in singles and No. 2 in the nation in doubles with junior Mary Anne Macfarlane. The Destin, Fla., native currently holds an 11-4 record in singles this season, knocking off seven nationally-ranked foes along the way, and an 11-2 mark in doubles.

The two-time All-SEC First Team selection won both the singles and doubles finals at the 2012 USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships and represented the Crimson Tide on the national stage at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships as well as the USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in the fall.

Throughout her career, Guarachi has collected 93 singles victories, ranking her third in Alabama history. She, and former doubles partner Courtney McLane, already hold the record for most wins by a doubles team with 69 over three seasons.

Guarachi was also recognized by the All Sports Association in 2009, winning the organization's amateur award.
