TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Former Crimson Tide standout Saketh Myneni has been selected to represent his home country of India on its Davis Cup team. The four-man squad, chosen by the All India Tennis Association, will take on Chinese Taipei Jan. 30 – Feb. 2, 2014, at the ITC Tennis Stadium in Indore, India.
Myneni, who lettered for Alabama from 2007-10, is currently ranked 316th in the world in singles and 309th in doubles.
Davis Cup, which began in 1900 as a competition between USA and Great Britain, is the world’s largest annual international team competition in sport. There were 130 nations that took part in 2013.
