The Board of Trustees of Appalachian State University approved a plan to enhance the university's athletics facilities as recommended by a 30-member study committee.

To be implemented within the limits of a $30 to 32-million capital budget, the plan calls for replacing the artificial playing surface at Kidd Brewer Stadium; renovating and expanding Owens Field House to accommodate additional locker rooms, training facilities and offices; converting Varsity Gymnasium into a multi-use indoor practice facility; and adding approximately 4,500 seats and other stadium enhancements.
