 Emily DeCamilla
Emily DeCamilla is in her first year as an assistant coach with the Cal Poly women’s tennis program. DeCamilla arrived at Cal Poly after serving as an assistant coach with the Georgetown men’s and women’s programs during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons. During her first season with the women’s program, DeCamilla helped the Hoyas triple their dual-match victory total from the previous year. Additionally, Georgetown’s qualification for the 2008 Big East Conference Championships marked the program’s first appearance at the tournament in eight seasons.  

Prior to arriving at Georgetown, DeCamilla was the head tennis pro at the Elkridge Club in Baltimore. DeCamilla has also served as the assistant tennis pro at Wild Dunes Resort (Charleston, S.C.) and as a tennis representative with the USTA of Northern California. Additionally, she has instructed at various tennis camps and served as a coach for junior zonal teams.

DeCamilla competed for Ohio State (2002-05), earning team Most Valuable Player honors as a senior after competing at the No. 1 singles and doubles positions. DeCamilla, who twice represented Ohio State at the NCAA Team Championships, posted 19 dual match victories as a junior in helping the Buckeyes to a second-place finish in the Big Ten Conference standings. Off the court, DeCamilla was a three-time Big Ten All-Academic honoree and three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete recipient.

Originally from Sacramento, Calif., DeCamilla is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education with a specialization in guidance and counseling at Cal Poly.
