 Mandy Gamble
Mandy Gamble has served as Head Coach of the Caltech Beaver’s men’s and women’s tennis teams since 2002 and has made the teams some of the most successful in Caltech history.  Her motivating, supportive and inspiring methods have led her athletes to greatness on the courts, and, more importantly, in the classroom and in life.  Gamble is known for improving not only her students’ games, but also their quality of life.

Gamble emphasizes overall excellence—finding the smartest methods of training, time-management, nutrition, conditioning, stress reduction, and motivation.  Her methods are all about helping high-achievers to feel energized and inspired to pursue their passions.

In addition to coaching tennis, Gamble also produces the Caltech All Sports Awards Show and has been the volleyball administrator, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) liaison, game management administrator, and teaches Physical Education courses in the Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation Department.  She is a bundle of selfless energy, often running out to get snacks for hungry athletes, providing social support to students who are stressed and overwhelmed, and organizing enrichment programs such as nutrition workshops and stress-reducing activities.  She is continually working to help Caltech students be their very best.

Mandy takes great pride in her student athletes, "Since I've been at Caltech I'm most proud about having both teams recognized as ITA All Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes.  To compete in intercollegiate athletics at an Institution with such an emphasis on academics it is truly rewarding to see student-athletes successful at both."

In 2002 Gamble along with both the Men and Women's Tennis teams and the entire Caltech Athletic Department were awarded the most distinguished honor - an induction into the National Sportsmanship Hall of Fame in Newport Rhode Island.

Mandy’s own background involved playing professional tennis, and then returning to college at Cal State LA, where she earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Communication Studies while competing for the Golden Eagles (B.A. 1995 and M.A. 1997). Mandy was a four-year letter winner for the Golden Eagles and received both Academic and All American honors during her college playing career.  Gamble was coached by the Southern California coaching legend, Robert Lansdorp and is also a P1 United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) teaching professional.
