 Perrine Calon

Perrine Calon Johnson is in her sixth season as a part-time assistant coach with the Fighting Camel tennis program.  Johnson joined the Campbell staff from the University of Mississippi, where she played for one of the top-ranked teams in the nation.  Since her arrival, the Lady Camels have fashioned an 80-27 won-lost record.

Last season, the Lady Camels were ranked as high as number-63 in the national poll, were seeded first in the  Atlantic Sun Championship, where they reached the final for the second time in three years.

In 2001, Johnson helped direct the Lady Camels to their first-ever Atlantic Sun championship and NCAA Regional berth. In 2001, the Lady Camels combined for a 75-14 record in singles play from the number three to the number six positions during dual matches, depth that Johnson helped develop.

In her first season in Buies Creek, Johnson helped guide the Lady Camels to a 14-7 record.  CU’s top three singles players – Katrin Gaber, Teodora Doncheva and Alexia Erb – combined for a 57-7 singles record.

A native of Fresnes, France, Johnson graduated from Ole Miss as an exercise science major.  She held the Rebels to a number eight national team ranking during her career.  Prior to joining the Ole Miss program, Johnson was ranked as high as second in the nation in both singles and doubles while at Anderson (S.C.) Junior College.

Johnson earned her Master’s in Education in interdisciplinary studies at Campbell.
