 Tribe Drops 4-3 Decision at No. 73 Maryland


Senior Dominic Pagon won his third straight match and improved to 11-6 on the year. The Kingston, Jamaica native easly rolled past Mathias Sarrazon, 6-1, 6-0, at the No. 4 position. It marked Pagon's seventh singles win in his last eight matches.

At the No. 1 singles position, junior Keziel Juneau continue his impressive play, defeating Andy Orban, 6-4, 7-6 (4). Juneau upped his season ledger to a team-best 14-7 overall, including a 10-4 mark at the top singles slot.

Freshman Ilja Orre rounded out the Tribe victories with a three-set win at the No. 6 single slot. The Green and Gold rookie took the first set from Roshan Potarazu, 6-3, before his Maryland opponent countered with a tiebreaker win, 7-6 (5), in the second set. Orre notched his seven singles triumph of the season with a 10-6 third-set super tiebreaker victory.

The Tribe will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 14, when it meets Big Ten foe Purdue in College Park, Md., at 1 p.m. Last season, W&M tallied a 4-3 victory over the Boilermakers in Boston, Mass. Purdue is 2-3 on the season following a 5-2 loss to No. 47 Arkansas in West Lafayette, Ind., on Feb. 8.
