 Brendan Lynch
Brendan Lynch comes to Cornell after two seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Penn State. He joins new Director of Intercollegiate Tennis/Richard Savitt and Stephen Weiss Head Coach of Men’s Tennis Silviu Tanasoiu.
 
In two seasons on the Nittany Lions’ sidelines, Lynch con­tributed to all aspects of the program, helping PSU to a season-high national ranking of 44 in 2010, while guiding Eddie Bourchier as he rose to a national ranking of 102 that same season. Lynch also helped the Nittany Lions to sign the nation’s 28th ranked recruiting class in 2009-10.
 
As a player for Penn State, Lynch was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and finished his career ranked ninth in school history with 79 singles victories to go along with 53 doubles victories. He also ranks near the top on Penn State's charts in a number of statistical categories including first for most doubles wins in a season in 2007-08 (26), eighth in doubles win percentage (.697), 13th in singles win percentage (.669) and 14th in career doubles wins (53).
 
Lynch, a native of North Potomac, Md., earned his degree in finance in 2009.
