One of the three members of this year's team to come to Drury from Morocco, Younes Limam has quietly shown the past two years that he knows how to win. His steady play has made him one of the Panthers' biggest winners. He seems to get to everything and opposing players continually struggle to find a way to beat him. His mental and physical skills made him a big part of last year's Drury team that was ranked #1 in the nation during the regular season before finishing third at the NCAA-II national championships. The precision play of some and the flamboyant play of others sometimes overshadows the steady play of Younes. But no Panther has been a bigger winner. Younes finished the 2001 season with a 20-4 record in singles and a 20-10 doubles record. He had a 25-5 singles record as a freshman while playing at the #3-#6 positions and a 16-8 doubles record. Now a junior, Younes will be asked to be one of the team's leaders this year, a role he is most capable of handling. Another member of the "Morocco Pipeline," Younes came to Drury two years ago joining Jalal Chafai, Mehdi Belbacha and Hicham Fathi. This foursome was a big part of the Panthers' success and national rankings in recent years and while Chafai has graduated, the threesome which remains has every intention of keeping Drury on top. Younes was a four-time runner-up in the Moroccan championships (ages 12, 14, 16 and 18-under), he was a finalist in an international federation tournament (ITF) and finished #3 in the Arabic championships (18-under) prior to coming to Drury.
