One of the Panthers' four talented newcomers who will be asked to step right in as Drury shoots for a national championship this season is Hetori Chaves, a native of Ponta Grossa, Brazil. Hetori brings an impressive resume to the Drury tennis program. The youngest player on this year's roster, Hetori enjoyed a successful junior career in Brazil where he was one of the top junior players as he reached the semi-finals of the Brazilian Masters Cup. He also has won several junior tournaments in France and has reached the second round of the prestigious Banana Bowl. He was the Londrina Open national champion, the Blue Life Cup national champion, the Maringa national champion and a semifinalist at the ITF Sercontil Open. With his international experience and tournament background Hetori should be an ideal addition to Drury's national championship caliber program. Hetori joins newcomers Jeremy Blandin, Tony Kiruki and Akos Tajta in what could be the next generation of sensational tennis talent to come to Springfield and to the Drury University athletic community.
