Javier Llanes, a native of Cordoba, Argentina, personifies the slogan: "refuse to lose." Javier has proven to be one of the most outstanding players in "clutch" situations in Drury tennis history. Javier is never out of a match and always has the determination and will to find a way to win. Last season that relentless attitude helped him to a 22-7 singles record and a 22-9 doubles record. He was played a big part in the Panthers reaching the Elite 8 last season in the 2003 national championship tournament. His junior year he was an integral part of the team’s second place finish at the NCAA-II national championships which were held in Kansas City.
