MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Eastern Illinois men’s tennis squad returned to the court on Wednesday evening, losing a 6-1 match at Ball State. The Panther now sit at 2-5 on the season having now lost four straight.
Freshman
Justin Haag picked up the lone Eastern point, downing his Cardinal opponent in straight sets, 6-1 and 7-5, at No. 6 Singles.
The Panthers lost the important doubles point, as BSU won all three matchups, but not before EIU gave the host squad a scare as each contest ended up very close.
The remaining Eastern single competitors lost in straight sets, except for newcomer
Michael Sperry, who won the first frame, 6-3, but unfortunately lost the next two.
