Sophomore Year (2006-07): Had an impressive fall season winning four matches straight to reach the Southern Intercollegiate finals to later fall to Tennessee's Adam Hubble 6-0, 4-6, 6-3...Had a dual match singles record of 18-6 where he dominated in position six with an 11-1 record... Went 1-1 at the ACC Championships falling to Duke's David Goulet 6-3, 6-1 but charged back to defeat Sebastian Guejman of North Carolina 6-3, 6-2...teamed with fellow sophomore Ryan Boyajian to defeat Paige and Jenkins of FAMU 8-2...went undefeated in the NCAA Championships where he defeated Maryland's Filip Szymik 6-2, 6-2 and earned one of two singles victories against Florida overpowering Daniel Cash 6-1, 6-2.
At Florida State: Cloer, the younger brother of former FSU All-American Mat Cloer, plans to enroll in January...He will be eligible to compete in the spring...After enjoying an outstanding prep career, Chris looks to make an immediate impact on the collegiate level...While he shares the name as another Cloer, don't be fooled...Chris is talented enough to make his own mark on FSU history.

High School and Other Accomplishments: A two-time, back-to-back, North Carolina High School State Champion in 2004 and 2005...Was ranked as the No. 3 player in North Carolina...Clinched the 2003 Southern Sportsmanship Award...Named Brevard High School Most Valuable Player all four seasons.
