Zsuzsanna Fodor, a two time All-American in both singles and doubles, who spent the past three years playing professional tournaments around the world, returns to college coaching and enters her first season with the Seminoles as the assistant coach of women's tennis. As a six-time Hungarian national champion, Fodor brings an extraordinary array of experience to the Florida State Seminoles coaching staff.
In 2008, Zsuzsanna Fodor was the assistant coach of women's tennis at the University of California, Berkeley where the Cal Golden Bears advanced to the NCAA team championship finals and completed the season ranked No. 3 in the ITA poll. That same year, the Golden Bears' pairing of Jana Juricova and Mari Andersson also captured the NCAA doubles title.
As a player at Cal, Fodor was twice named to the All-Pac-10 first team (2006 and 2007). She first earned the honor as she captured the 2006 Pac-10 singles championship on her way to being named Pac-10 Player of the Year. Coupled with fellow All-American Susie Babos, Fodor also received conference recognition as part of the 2007 Pac-10 Doubles Team of the Year as they posted a 21-7 record together.
Fodor earned an ITA No. 3 singles ranking and a No. 2 doubles ranking as a junior in 2006 as she won the ITA Northwest Regional Championship doubles title with Babos. In the fall of 2005, she won the singles title at the ITA Northwest Regional Championship.
She arrived at Berkeley after transferring from Mississippi State, where she was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year in 2005.
Fodor received a degree from Cal in interdisciplinary studies in 2007 and currently resides in Tallahassee, Fla.
