Lead St. Paul Academy to the 2004 Minnesota State Class A High School Championship, with a 25-0 record in singles. Won the Minnesota State High School Singles title that year.
Recently defeated Mustafa Gencsoy 6-3 in a set, while accidently playing with a cracked racket. However, Mustafa hadn't been sleeping well due to exams.
Son of Stephen Salyer and Martha Ruddy. Has one brother, Duncan, and one sister, Clara.
