Harald enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Sea Warriors. He played his collegiate tennis at Texas Christian University where he won the conference singles title in 1983.
After graduating from TCU, he took his game to the professional ranks, playing on the ATP pro circuit for eight years. During that time, he held world rankings of #230 (singles) and #170 (doubles).
From 1993-2000, Harald coached on the ATP Tour and was a long-time hitting partner of grand slam champion Steffi Graf. Before coming to Hawai'i he ran his own tennis academy in Mannheim, Germany. He is also the founder of ABC-Tennis, and organization aimed at teaching the mentally disbaled the sport of tennis.
In his free time, Harald enjoys golfing and bodysurfing, and is looking forward to helping HPU to a National Championship.
