MIZUHO NISHIMURA

Mizuho, from Fukuok, Japan, is in her second year at Hillsborough Community College.

Mizuho was born May 13, 1984 to Koukichi and Takako Nishimura and has an older sister, Mihoko.  Mizuho has been playing tennis for sixteen years.  She attended Shukugawa Gakuin High School in Japan.  She considers her biggest tennis influence to ber her father.  She says he was the best coach ever!

Last year with the Hawks, Mizuho earned 1st Team All-American honors, winning the flight 2 doubles National Championship with partner Alba Passanisi.  Mizuho played number 2 singles and posted a 12-7 singles record and a 15-4 doubles record.

This fall, Mizuho teamed with Hiroko Nishikawa to win the ITA Small College Championship Junior College Division in Doubles as well as placed 6th in singles.  Hiroko and Mizuho went on to play in the Super Bowl final.
