 Brett Shavitz
Brett Shavitz is in his second season as the head coach of the Holy Family University women’s tennis team and had been with the program since its inception in 2004. Shavitz has over 20 years of tennis experience as a player and a coach. Shavitz coached the Tigers to a 15-6 overall record and their second consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championship. He was tabbed at the CACC Coach of the Year. Shavitz spent the first three years at Holy Family as the tennis team’s assistant coach From 1998 to 2001, Shavitz was the number one flight singles player at Marywood University in Scranton, Pa. At Marywood, Shavitz was a two-time runner-up in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) tournament. In 1998, he helped lead the Pacers to a 10-9 overall record and the PAC team championship. At 14, Shavitz was ranked in the top-five in the Philadelphia area. Shavitz has a bachelor’s degree from Marywood University in social sciences and recently earned a master’s degree from Holy Family in education. He currently works at Council Rock South as a teacher’s assistant in special education.
