Junior:  Choi reached the quarterfinals of the “A” singles flight at the Ball State Fall Classic.
Sophomore:  Choi was named Missouri Valley’s Player-of-the-Week for the week of April 30.  In mid-January, the Hamilton, Ontario native won the #5 singles flight at the MVC Individual Championships and teamed up with junior Stefan Hirn to win #3 doubles flight.  In the fall, Choi played an impressive Indiana State Fall Classic going undefeated at #5 singles.  Another highlight of the fall was his doubles play at the Regional Championships where he teamed up with  Stefan Hirn to advance to the semifinals.  Choi ended his second season as a Sycamore with a record of 29-12 in singles and 35-12 in doubles.  In conference action, Choi went undefeated in both singles (12-0) and doubles (5-0).
Freshman:  Choi finished his first collegiate season with a record of 34-16 in singles and a
doubles record of 15-4 with Stefan Hirn.  Fall highlight includes clinching the crucial final match against Kansas to advance the team tho the National Indoors, after facing several match points against. Choi also defeated Tulsa's Nenad Toroman, who was ranked nationally in the top 60, at the ITA Regional Individual Championships.  In his first collegiate competition, which was the Butler Invitational, Choi claimed the Flight #4 singles and the Flight #2 doubles with Stefan Hirn.
Prep:  Choi is perhaps the most heralded freshman recruit in the history of ISU tennis.  Choi was ranked third in singles and doubles in Canada and first in singles and doubles in Ontario in both the under 18 and under 16 age groups.  In 1998-99, Choi defeated Jochim Johansson, of Sweden, who is ranked in the top 5 in the world junior rankings.
