Junior Year (2001-02)
Finished up a record of 11-21 singles record playing mostly at number three and four positions • teamed with Ryan Recht and Milan Rakvica to go 14-14 in doubles action • advanced to the finals of the Clemson Fall Classic with Rakvica as his teammate • advanced to the finals of the Louisville Invitational Doubles Flight A with Recht as his partner • teamed with Recht to beat the fifth-ranked team of Javier Traborga and Casey Smith of Notre Dame • had a Big Ten singles record of 2-8 and a Big Ten doubles record of 3-7 • Academic All-Big Ten.

Freshman Year (1999-00)
At Michigan posted a 11-11 overall (4-0 Big Ten) in singles play and 11-10 overall (5-4 Big Ten) in doubles competition as a freshman at Michigan • his Michigan team tied for third last year in Big Ten play • In singles play, he lost in the Regional round of the NCAA tournament to No. 97 seed Petr Koula of Texas Christian University 6-0, 6-3 • In doubles competition, he and UM teammate John Long were also defeated in the Regional round by TCU’s Esteban Carril and Trace Fielding 8-2.

Prep
As a senior, Held earned Academic All-State and was a member of the National Honor Society at North Central High School • four-year letter winner in tennis and was selected to Indiana’s first team all-state three times from 1996-1999 • compiled a record of 49-17 as No. 1 singles player from sophomore to senior years • posted a 30-0 mark and earned all-state honorable mention as a freshman • won the team state championship as a freshman and conference championships his last three years • Zach has two older brothers, Andrew and David, that both played four years of tennis at IU.
