Bill Eydler enters his 26th season as King's head coach, having led the netmen to a fine 303-206 record in his career.  Eydler came to King's with an outstanding background in tennis. Over the last 30 years, he has been the director of the Wilkes-Barre  Department of Parks and Recreation. Eydler is also a well-known tennis official, tournament director and a USTA/NTRP Verifier.

He began his coaching career at Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pa. and led his team to the Northeastern Pa. High School Tennis League title in 1972. After his tenure at Wyoming Seminary, he then returned to coach his alma-mater, Wilkes-Barre Meyers, for three years before coming to King's.

An accomplished player, Eydler has won many tournaments on the local level as well as in the Northeast, earning a MSTA Men's age 35 doubles ranking of #10 in 1984.  In 1981, he was named to the Advisory Board of Four Star Tennis Academy and has served as an officer in the Lehigh Valley Tennis Association, a division of the USTA,  for several years.   

In 1986, he was honored with the selection of State Tennis Director of the Keystone State Games, retiring from the position in 1989.  For the second time in his tenure at King's, Eydler was honored by the LVTA as the 1990 Outstanding Coach of the Year, an award he had previously received in 1983.

Enjoying a highly successful tenure at King's, where he also coaches the women's team, Eydler has led the Monarchs to a number of MAC division and league titles over his career, including the 2000 MAC overall championship. He also coached senior Vlad Handl to the 2000 MAC singles championship and was named MAC Freedom "Coach of the Year." Eydler also coached King's to the MAC Freedom and overall runner-up spot in 2001.

Eydler received his BA degree from King's College in 1970 and earned his Master's degree in Physical Education Administration from Columbia Pacific University in 1982.  

Eydler
was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Public Service from Ansted University, British Virgin Islands of UK for meritorious contributions in coaching and athletic administration, 2004.

Eydler is a Math Specialist in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District.  Coach Eydler and his wife Diane reside in Wilkes-Barre.
