SALT LAKE CITY – LSU’s Whitney Wolf and Keri Frankenberger finished the Lady Tigers’ fall season in style with a victory over Utah’s Danielle Smith and Natasha Flores 9-8 (5) to take the doubles title at the Utah Fall Invitational inside the Eccles Tennis Center on the Utah campus Sunday.

 

Wolf and Frankenberger have now won nine of their last 15 matches dating back to last season. The pair is 2-1 all time against ranked doubles opponents.

 

Wolf fell to Utah’s Sarah Pham 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 in the A singles final.

 

Olivia Howlett beat Danielle Flores of Utah  6-3, 6-4 to claim third place in the A singles bracket.

 

“I was really proud of Whitney and Keri’s doubles win especially because it came in a comeback,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “We showed a lot of character across the board. Olivia Howlett had a very nice performance to take third place.”
