As a Junior -- Reached the singles final of the Groot Memorial Invitational and the semifinals of the Top of the Hill Collegiate Kickoff Classic in his singles flight...finished the year with an 8-5 overall record in singles, boosting his career mark to 10-10...was 2-3 in doubles...won six of eight tiebreakers...won Athletic Director’s Scholar-Athlete Award for men’s tennis team.

As a Sophomore -- Picked up his first singles victory at UNC with a win over Drego Orbegos of South Carolina State 6-4; 6-4 at the USC Fall Invitational...finished with a 2-3 singles record.

As a Freshman -- Battled injuries throughout the fall which kept him out of fall competition … came back in the spring and played two singles matches and one doubles match in tournament play.

Prep -- A four year varsity letter winner in tennis and a two-year letterman in cross country at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, graduating in May 2000...as a freshman there he teamed with former Tar Heel player Chad Riley. ‘01, on the Baylor tennis squad…team captain in tennis and cross country as senior...led Baylor to the state tennis title in 1997 as a freshman and the state runnerup position in 1999 in his junior season…was the doubles state runnerup in 1999…also ran cross country two years and was on the state championship team in 1999 and the runnerup team in 1998…finished third in the state individually in cross country in 1998 and was voted All-State in cross country two years…voted best male senior athlete by Baylor coaches in 2000…was also voted the best all-around male senior by the faculty in 2000...a National Honor Society member for two years, including one year as president...four-year class president.
