2001-02: Put together a 20-13 record … Was 7-4 in conference play … Had second best Big Ten record on team … Recorded most of his 20 wins at the No. 5 spot (10-6) … Had second most singles wins on team … Went 14-7 in doubles play … Posted 7-2 doubles mark with Tommy Hanus … Saw doubles ranking with Hanus rise to No. 50 … Advanced to the Round of 16 at Big Ten Singles championship, as well as the MIdwest regionals.

2000-01: Finished the season 21-11, best record among the Cats ... ... 9-1 Big Ten record also best on the team ... Played mostly at No. 6 spot ... Went 2-1 at the Hurricane Invitational, 1-2 at the Big Ten Singles Championship and the adidas Invitational ... Paired with Brad Erickson for a 6-1 doubles record ... With partner Ryan Edlefsen went 5-6 in fall doubles action.

1999-00: Placed second at Boilermaker Classic ... Finished with an overall singles record of 19-15 ... Teamed with Jamie Sahara at third doubles to post a 4-16 mark.

High School: Was ranked No. 43 in the United States Tennis Association's (USTA) Boys 18s. Earned a No. 2 ranking in the Eastern Tennis Association. State champion for Walt Whitman High School as a junior and senior. Four-time all-state honoree. Earned five varsity letters. Went 50-0 over junior and senior years. Team captain and four-time MVP.

Personal: Born Joshua Henry Axler on April 12, 1981. Son of Scott and Joanne Axler.  Chose Northwestern over Brown, Harvard and Michigan.  Majoring in History.
