Coach Bill May is a 1987 graduate of Marion College, and Indiana Wesleyan University, where he holds undergraduate degress in Secondary Education, Social Studies, and Social Work, and in 2005, where he received a Masters in Science in Management.  May has coached at two other universities besides Oneonta State University (Huntington College, Huntington, Indiana and Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Indiana) where he coached both men's and women's tennis.

In 2003 and 2004, May's Indiana Wesleyan men's tennis team were NCCAA national runner-ups, while maintaining one of the top team grade-point-averages in the country.  May was a five-time coach of the year while at Huntington College, and was recepient of the USTA Collegiate Community Service Award in 1999.  May was named Most Outstanding Professional in 2005.

Coach May is married (Tammy) and has two children (Gabrielle and Will IV).
