Kasey King, daughter of Michelle Cameron of Purvis, Mississippi, is in her second season as a member of the Lady Wildcats. King was a five year letterman of the Purvis High School tennis program. During her time on the team, she advanced to the state tournament three times and earned the District Girls' Doubles Champions title in 2008. King competed at number two singles and at number one doubles during her freshman season at Pearl River. With some tough matches her first season, King finished the year by breaking even in singles during the duel match season and with a winning record for her doubles’ season. Her success in doubles earned her and partner Jill Fletcher of Petal, Mississippi, the Best Doubles Team Award for the 08-09 year. She was a major contributor to the Lady Wildcats’ 8-4 winning record. The team’s only losses were to eventual state champs Jones Junior College and state runner-up Hinds Community College. During the fall, King competed in the 2009 Wilson/ITA Southern Championships. With partner Janae Norwood, she advanced to the semifinals before falling to the eventual tournament champions.
