Norwood is in her first year as a member of the Lady Wildcat Tennis Team. She is the daughter of Karen Norwood of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Kendall Norwood of St. Louis, Missouri. Norwood was a member of the Oak Grove High School tennis program for three years and was a major contributor to the success of the team during her senior season when they were state finalists.
During the fall, Norwood competed in the 2009 Wilson/ITA Southern Championships. Along with partner Kasey King, she advanced to the semifinals of the doubles draw before falling to the tournament champions.
