David Sheaffer will take on Penn State Abington's Men's Tennis Program in for their inaugural season in 2009-2010. Previously, the school had a co-ed team in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference. Several players will be moving on from the program so, the first order of business will be to build a program.
Previously, Sheaffer coached a very successful Upper Dublin High School tennis program. His combined win loss record for the boys and girls teams over seven seasons equaled 75 – 12, and his teams captured their Division Championship four times.
Sheaffer was the Men’s Tennis Team Captain at Messiah College, and as a Junior player on the school’s first Middle Atlantic Conference Championship Team. A native to the Philadelphia region, Sheaffer was a three Varsity letter winner in tennis at Haddon Township High School, and made All South Jersey Doubles his Junior year.
