 Wayne Vaughan

Wayne Vaughan is the new head coach of men's and women's tennis at Randolph-Macon College for 2004-05. He will bring a new energy to Yellow Jacket tennis, and his hoping to build up the program and instill in the players a desire to compete at a high level.

A 1991 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Vaughan received a B.S. degree in physical education, with a minor in health. Vaughan graduated summa cum laude from VCU. He has conducted tennis clinics and private instruction in Goochland, Hanover, and Henrico counties. In addition, Vaughan has been on the boards of Arsenal FC, AC Alliance, and CASL Virginia youth soccer clubs, serving as president.

A former health and physical education teacher in the Henrico County Public Schools system, Vaughan also was intramurals coordinator and coached middle school boy's and girl's tennis, wrestling, and softball. Currently, he is a territory manager in Virginia for Sport Supply Group, Inc. out of Dallas, Texas. He is a member of Burkwood Swim & Racquet Club.

Vaughan and his wife, Debbie, have two sons, thirteen-year-old Caleb and nine-year-old Micah. The family is currently hosting a Randolph-Macon student from Brazil named Gustavo Riggio, who will be playing on the school's baseball team this year.
