One of the Tars’ top players the past three seasons and will enters senior year with high expectations.
2007: Gomez went 13-3, 2-3 in conference in the 07 season. He registered an 8-5 record playing No. 2 singles and a 5-4 record at No. 3 singles. Teamed with Gustavo Carvalho at the No. 1 doubles spot going 10-5 and with Brian Compton at No. 1 going 8-5.
2006: Posted a record of 13-9 in the spring season, playing primarly at the No. 5 slot. Finished the year ranked ninth in the region in doubles with partner David Tafur. Posted a record of 8-2 including a 6-1 mark at No. 3 and 1-0 at No. 1 doubles.
2004-05: Had a breakout spring season, earning ITA Regional Rookie of the Year honors and being named to the All-SSC first team. Posted 15-5 record in singles play from the No. 3 and No. 4 position. Teamed with Matt Umbers to make up the nation's seventh ranked doubles team, going 14-6 at No. 1 and No. 2. Went 6-4 in singles play during the fall and teamed up with Matt Umbers to go 5-3 in doubles...semi-finalist of the ITA Southeast Region Final...advanced to the semifinals of flight A doubles in the C.L Varner International Tournament...after losing first match, made it to the quarterfinals of the A consolation of the Hastings Memorial/JU Invitational. Was named Academic-All America and is in the Rollins honors program.
High School: Represented Trinidad in Davis Cup Group III in 2004 and 2005.
