After a fantastic junior campaign playing No 1. doubles and No. 2 singles last year, Mahler will be looked upon in 2008 to be the Tars’ leader. 2007: Mahler earned First Team All-SSC honors in singles play (20-4) and doubles play with Tasi Purcell (21-2) 2006: Finished the season with a 16-6 singles record and was named All-Sunshine State Conference second team and All-American in doubles with Tasi Purcell. The duo went 14-8 playing in the No. 1 spot. 2005: Mahler finished the season ranked No. 29 in singles, teamed with Tasi Purcell to earn the No. 6 spot in the nation for doubles play. She also helped the Tars to reach the No. 10 spot in the final rankings. Mahler's outstanding play as a freshman earned her the ITA Rookie Player of the Year award in 2005. Mahler made it into the semifinals of the Wilson/ITA Southeast Region Championship. She finished up the 2005 season with a 14-5 overall record in singles. In doubles play, teamed with her partner Purcell to finish the year with an impressive record of 22-1. High School: Doubles winner in the ITF Grade 2 flight in Ecuador. Doubles finalist of ITF Grade 1 in Venezuela. Ranked No. 2 nationally in Germany of singles for 16 and 18 year olds. Mahler says her greatest sports experience was competing in the Wimbledon juniors.
