Fall of 2006: Won three matches in two straight sets to advance to finals of Flight Black in Mean Green Invitational… Fell, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4, to Lakann Wagley of Texas Tech in finals… Paired with Natasha Rudouskaya for doubles play in Mean Green Invitational… Won the White Singles of the Rice Invitational with four straight wins… Paired with Jennifer Chay for 2-2 record in Blue Doubles of Rice Invite.

 

2005-06 (Jr.): Awarded to the All-Conference second team… Named Conference USA Player of the Week… Played most of the season at No. 3 singles, but all saw time at No. 2 and No. 4… Played a few times at No. 2 doubles… Posted 11 match-win streak at end of season, including a three set win over No. 45 opponent from Arkansas… Helped guide team to second-place finish at C-USA Championship… Took win over Tulsa in singles to help advance the Mustangs to finals of C-USA Championships… Ended the season on an eleven match win streak including defeating No. 45 ranked opponent from Arkansas…. Several times, clinched her singles match win to clinch the match for Mustangs… Was 5-1 in three set matches and 17-7 overall… Member of Student Athletic Advisory Board.

 

At Campbell University: Obtained a career record of 35-17 in singles playing at the No. 3 spot (17-7) her freshman year and No. 1 (18-10) as a sophomore... Held the No. 2 doubles slot her freshman year and No. 1 doubles during her sophomore campaign... Won second place in singles and doubles at Charleston Southern University Women’s Classic in flight A doubles… Voted to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman team in 2004... First-team All-Atlantic Sun in 2005... Also received the team MVP award in both singles and doubles her sophomore year... Member of Campbell’s Student Athletic Advisory Board.

 

Previous Playing Experience: Began playing tennis at age eight... Trained under Leonte Rusu at the Sporting Scholar Club in Romania... Achieved a career-high of No. 9 in Romania as junior... Won the Germany Berlin International Championships and the SV RI Nikendorf Championships... Also as a junior won both the 2002 and 2003 Bucharest Ben Gay Cup... Has placed first overall in over 13 national tournaments during her junior tennis career.

 

Personal: Daughter of Florin and Paraschiva Marta of Romania... Has one older sister and a twin brother who attends college in Romania... A  sociology major with a minor in psychology.
