Chris Hooshyar
Chris Hooshyar is in his second season (2012-13) as volunteer coach for the SMU women's tennis team.
A two-year captain on the SMU men's tennis team, Hooshyar posted winning records in each of his seasons as a student-athlete on the Hilltop (2006-2010) and worked with head coach Carl Neufeld and assistant coaches to arrange and direct team activities. Off the court, Hooshyar served as a men's tennis representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Immediately following graduation, Hooshyar became involved in the SMU Athletics Ticket Office, where he assisted the director of ticket sales in selling individual game and season tickets.
His coaching experience dates back to 2005 when he supervised and coached at various SMU tennis camps as well as planed and organized team activities. Hooshyar also has over six years of experience working with junior and high school tennis players in Texas. During his time as a tennis professional with Oasis Tennis Academy, he was a catalyst in helping student-athletes open doors and getting in contact with college coaches.
Hooshyar received a B.A. in Sociology from SMU in 2010 and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Dispute Resolution. He is presently in the process of becoming a Certified Mental Coach.
