Sartell, MN- The St. Cloud State University women’s tennis team crushed NCAA D-1 South Dakota State University 8-1 on March 21. The winning roll the Huskies have been on puts them at 12-8 overall in the season. Currently, the women are in second place in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.
The SCSU women started their conquest by sweeping doubles play. The #1 doubles duo of Jacque Doll and Kristie Freese won by a score of 8-3. The #2 doubles team of Kayla Lenz and Dawn Olsen posted an 8-0 victory. Finishing the sweep was Kristie Eull and Tanya Halloran at #3 doubles with an 8-2 success.
Wins were also found in five of the six singles matches. Victories were posted by Jacque Doll (#1), Dawn Olsen (#2), Kelly Freese (#3), Kayla Lenz (#4) and Kristie Eull (#5).
The Huskies play their next match on March 28 at 2 p.m. against Minnesota State-Mankato in St. Peter, Minn. Complete match scores against South Dakota State are listed below:
