St. Peter, Minn. - In a battle for the top spot in the NSIC regular season standings, the St. Cloud State University women's tennis gained a solid 7-2 victory over downstate rival Minnesota State University on Sunday, March 29. The match was played at the Gustavus Adolphus College Tennis Center in St. Peter.
The victory pushed the Huskies' record to 14-8 overall and it also gives them a 7-1 record in the always competitive NSIC. Minnesota State falls to 7-7 overall and the Mavericks now ranks second in the league at 6-2 NSIC.
SCSU cruised to the big NSIC win with singles wins by Dawn Olsen (#2), Kelly Freese (#3), Kayla Lenz (#4), Kristie Eull (#5) and Sam Boushek (#6).
