Tsay Of Relief: No. 12 Stanford Outlasts No. 5 USC, 4-3

URBANA, Ill.- Ellen Tsay outlasted Gabriella DeSimone 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 on court five, providing the clincher in No. 12 Stanford's 4-3 thrilling victory over No. 5 USC in a match that lasted exactly five hours on Friday night in the round of 16 at the NCAA Championships.
 
Stanford (19-4, 8-2 Pac-12) claimed the doubles point for the 21st time in 23 matches and quickly moved in front 3-1 with a pair of straight-set singles wins before USC (23-3, 9-0 Pac-12) rallied for a 3-3 tie.
 
Tsay then clinched her team-leading seventh match of the season, pushing the Cardinal into a quarterfinal matchup on Sunday against No. 4 Georgia.
