2000-01 (Freshman): Saw his only action of the fall at the ITA Regional in Berkeley in October. Advanced to the third round of the singles main draw, before losing a tight match to third-seeded Matt Hanlin of Washington (8-6) In doubles play at the ITA Regionals, advanced to the second round w/fellow freshman Joseph Kao.

Prior to Stanford: 2000: Over the summer, was the singles runner-up at the Brazilian Nationals and reached the semis in doubles. Also in that event, beat six of the top 10 players in the country. Ranked among the top 18s in the nation in Brazil. Graduated from Palmer Prep (same school Stanford teammate K.J. Hippensteel attended) with a 3.7 GPA. 1999: Brazilian National Champion. 1998: Brazilian National Champion. Winner of two Brazilian National Under-16 Tournaments. Ranked in the top 10 in the nation in 16s. Reached the ITF Group 3 Semifinals in Denmark and Group 2 Quarterfinals in Germany and Denmark.
