 Jeremy Loomis

Coach Jeremy Loomis is committed to using his experiences as a player and coach to build upon the recent successes of the program. As a collegiate player, he played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles at the University of Maryland. After graduation, he competed professionally and earned a world ranking in doubles. Loomis started his coaching career in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he was part of the staff that trained the Indonesian junior national team and several Indonesian Federation Cup and Davis Cup players. When he returned to the U.S., Loomis earned a master’s degree in exercise science from Miami University and was the assistant coach for a men’s tennis team that won consecutive conference championships. He then returned to his alma mater to coach the men’s tennis team and assist with the women’s team. While attending to his coaching duties, Loomis earned an MBA from the University of Maryland R.H. Smith School of Business. Before coming to Swarthmore, he spent a year in Durham, NC, assisting a Duke University women’s tennis team that achieved a final national ranking of No. 6. As he begins another season at Swarthmore, Loomis is looking forward to implementing innovative ideas to maximize the team’s potential on and off the court and is anticipating another exciting year for the Garnet.
